On April 7, Wan Gang, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, and director of the Planning Advisory Committee hosted the "New Energy Automobile Industry Development Plan (2021-2035)" (hereinafter referred to as "Planning") advisory committee meeting in Beijing. The meeting made it clear that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will further strengthen departmental coordination, improve support policies, and actively stabilize and expand the consumption of new energy vehicles.

Xin Guobin pointed out that the preparation of the "Plan" adheres to the principle of openness and openness, and extensively solicits opinions from all parties. After repeated revisions and improvements, consensus has been reached on the main content and will be promoted as soon as possible. Xin Guobin said that my country's new energy automobile industry is currently in a critical period of "climbing the hurdles". The impact of the epidemic and the decline in global oil prices is superimposed, and downward pressure on the market is increasing. In the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will further strengthen departmental coordination, improve support policies, actively stabilize and expand the consumption of new energy vehicles, and unswervingly promote the sustainable and healthy development of the industry.

Wan Gang pointed out that the "Plan" has a novel structure and prominent content. The release and implementation of the new energy automobile industry during the special period when the development of the new energy automobile industry is affected by the global epidemic will inject strong impetus into the development of the new energy automobile industry in my country and even the world. In order to achieve the development goals of the new energy automobile industry proposed in the "Plan", Wan Gang emphasized that efforts should be made in the following four aspects: First, expand the scale and proportion of the industry in the adjustment of market structure; Second, improve product performance in integrated innovation Quality; third is to reduce costs and increase efficiency in open competition; fourth is to expand market applications in rural revitalization.

The meeting also conducted in-depth discussions on the major issues faced by the large-scale promotion of new energy vehicles and the safety of the industrial chain in combination with the impact of the global epidemic.
