The Minister of Industry and Information Technology Miao Wei said at the China Electric Vehicles Forum (2020) today that the long-term development of new energy vehicles has not changed. In 2019, due to macroeconomic pressures, the switch of national five countries and six emission standards, subsidies and other related support policies, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in my country began to decline in July 2019. But for the whole year, the sales of new energy vehicles in 2019 still exceeded 1.206 million. From a trend point of view, the sales volume performance in November and December 2019 has returned to the average level before the decline, which shows that the negative impact of the policy decline is gradually recovering.

The Minister of Industry and Information Technology Miao Wei recently stated that my country's new energy vehicle production and sales exceeded 1.2 million in 2019, and the long-term positive development trend of new energy vehicles has not changed.

Miao Wei made the above statement at the China Electric Vehicle Hundreds Forum (2020) held in Beijing a few days ago. He said that the development of my country's automobile industry has entered a period of adjustment, with opportunities and challenges coexisting. In 2019, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in my country declined due to the combined effects of greater macroeconomic pressure, the squeeze-out effect of national five fuel vehicles, and the decline of relevant support policies. However, the annual production and sales of new energy vehicles still exceeded 1.2 million, maintaining a global level. leading position.

Miao Wei said that since November 2019, the production and sales of new energy vehicles have gradually returned to the average level before the subsidy declined, showing signs of improvement. At the same time, the product quality of new energy vehicles has significantly improved, the market share of mid-to-high-end models has continued to increase, the industrial structure has continued to be optimized, the elimination of backward companies has accelerated, and the dominant companies have accelerated the pace of "going out".

Lin Nianxiu, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission, said at the forum that although my country's car ownership has exceeded 200 million, only one-third of households own a car. With the continuous increase of residents' income, rapid urbanization, and the release of consumption upgrade potential, the popularity of automobiles will continue to increase.
